The automotive industry has recently seen a wave of car price hike, a trend that continues year after year. Most car manufacturers revise their prices at least twice annually, largely due to rising operational and input costs. Here’s a list of brands set to increase prices starting April 2025:
1. Maruti Suzuki to Increase Prices By 4%

The biggest passenger carmaker in India – Maruti Suzuki was one of the first to announce a 4% car price hike across all its models. From hatchback to MPV, the brand has a diverse portfolio of cars from every segment, like Alto K10, Swift, Baleno, Wagon R, Baleno, Brezza, Invicto etc.
Notably, this marks the third price increase for Maruti Suzuki in 2025, with prior hikes occurring in January and February.
This could also imply that the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, launching next month, could also see a price hike.
2. Tata Motors to Implement Car Price Hike in April 2025

Tata Motors is set to implement another round of price increases on its entire range, including electric vehicles. Earlier, in January 2025, the company raised prices by 3% across all models.
Recently, Tata Motors confirmed that prices for its passenger vehicles would rise again starting April 2025. While the exact hike hasn’t been disclosed, reports suggest an increase of around 2-3%.
Additionally, Tata Motors has also announced a price revision for its commercial vehicle segment, with a confirmed hike of 2%.
3. Mahindra & Mahindra To Increase Prices by 3%

Following the trend, Mahindra also announced a car price hike of 3% effective from April 2025 across both its SUV and CV (Commercial Vehicle) segments. This marks the 2nd price hike of the brand this year owing to rising input cost.
The move doesn’t come as a surprise, especially after Mahindra surpassed Hyundai to become the 2nd most highest-selling brand in February 2025.
4. Kia Announces a 3% Car Price Hike

Similarly, Kia also announced its car price hike on all its entire line up by up to 3%. The price hike will be applicable on all ICE and electric models (including the newly launched Kia Syros).
According to Kia, the hike is necessary to counter rising commodity prices and escalating supply chain costs.
5. Hyundai to Raise Prices by Up to 3% in April 2025

The parent company of Kia Motors – Hyundai is also all set to increase the prices of all cars by up to 3% due to the fluctuating cost of raw materials and growing operational cost.
The rise of prices will impact all mass-market models like Creta, Venue, Grand i10 Nios, i20, Verna. Also, the more upscale cars like Tucson, IONIQ will also get costlier.
This price surge will also be applicable on the newly launched Creta Electric (current price: Rs. 17.99 lakh – Ex-showroom).
Just like other brands, this is the second time Hyundai has increased its prices this year. Earlier, it was in January 2025 when the brand increased its prices by up to Rs. 25,000.
6. BMW Announces Price Hike by 3%

The German car brand – BMW also announced a price hike of up to 3% in India. While the carmaker hasn’t explicitly stated the reason, it’s likely in response to the same factors affecting other manufacturers.
The price surge will apply to locally assembled models such as the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series Gran Limousine, M340i, and 6 Series Gran Turismo, as well as imported models like the i7, iX, i5, i4, and iX1.
7. Honda Joins the Price Increase Trend in April 2025

Unlike other brands, Honda skipped the first round of price increase in January 2025. But it joined the trend this time and announced a price hike from April 1st, 2025. However, the exact revision rate is not confirmed yet.
This increase in prices will cover the entire range of cars like Honda City, Amaze, Elevate, City e:HEV etc.
This decision is the outcome of the same reason as other brands – the increasing raw material cost and operational expenses.
8. Renault Car Price Hike from April 2025

Renault also decided to increase the prices of its cars in India starting the new financial year – April 2025. The brand will surge the prices on its entire lineup, which includes Kiger, Triber, and Kwid.
Interestingly, Renault is one of the few brands that has managed to maintain stable prices since 2023. Given this, the upcoming hike appears reasonable and long overdue.
