The bi-projector LED headlamps and LED "lightsaber" turn indicators maintain their futuristic appeal, and the 3D honeycomb LED tail lamps at the rear add a unique touch. With a length of 3994mm, a width of 1758mm, and a height of 1572mm, the Magnite offers a decent footprint. Its 2500mm wheelbase and 205mm ground clearance ensure it remains a versatile option for urban and rough terrains alike. The boot space, starting at 336L and expandable to 690L with folded rear seats, is practical but requires the inconvenience of fully folding the seats to access the larger space.
While the Magnite’s overall exterior design is strong, its rear design could have been more exciting compared to the bold front. Additionally, while the dimensions are quite competitive, rivals like the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch offer slightly better practical aspects like boot space, making the Magnite more suitable for those seeking style and performance over sheer practicality.
Convenience extends to keyless entry, push-button start, and an electric power-adjustable driver’s seat. Additional features include cruise control, front and rear armrests, a wireless phone charger, and LED headlights. However, the absence of an electric sunroof or more connected car tech might be seen as drawbacks.
The Magnite offers two engine options: a naturally aspirated 1.0L petrol engine and a more powerful 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine. The naturally aspirated engine delivers 72hp and 96Nm of torque, adequate for city commuting and light highway driving. However, it can feel underpowered during overtaking maneuvers or when fully loaded, lacking the punch for spirited driving. On the other hand, the turbocharged engine delivers 100hp and 160Nm of torque, offering a more dynamic and engaging performance, particularly suited for highway cruising and overtaking. The turbo engine, however, does experience some noticeable turbo lag at lower RPMs, but once the revs increase, it provides a more responsive drive.
The CVT gearbox offers smooth gear transitions, enhancing driving comfort, and suits a sedate driving style well with minimal rubber band effect. The 360-degree camera aids in parking and tight maneuvers, though some users feel the camera quality could be improved, especially in low light.
Considering the price point and the segment, the naturally aspirated engine is practical for daily urban use, while the turbocharged engine is better suited for those seeking a more spirited performance, particularly for frequent highway drives or carrying heavy loads. Overall, the Nissan Magnite provides a comfortable, practical, and engaging driving experience for both city and highway driving, with the turbo engine offering a more dynamic option for those who prioritize performance.
For collision protection, the Magnite is built with a reinforced body structure, offering better crash safety, and it also includes ISOFIX child seat mounts for added security for younger passengers. The car’s high ground clearance adds to its ability to tackle minor obstacles without risking underbody damage.
While the Magnite offers commendable safety features for its segment, some users have pointed out that it lacks more advanced safety technologies like lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking, which are increasingly common in rival models like the Hyundai Exter or the Tata Punch.
In summary, the Nissan Magnite offers a good range of safety features suitable for everyday use and city driving. It provides essential safety features along with some advanced options in higher trims, but it may not be as well-equipped as some rivals in terms of cutting-edge safety tech.

Nissan Magnite Expert Review
The Nissan Magnite is always known for its aggressive pricing, and that’s probably the top reason people go for it. Overall, it’s a good package of style, safety, and value. Known for its legacy as a reliable and affordable compact SUV, the new Magnite facelift builds on this foundation with fresh design elements, improved features, and a user-focused approach. Whether you're a city commuter or a weekend adventurer, this car ticks most of the boxes.
On the outside, its bold honeycomb grille, LED bi-projector headlamps, and 3D honeycomb gradient tail lamps turn heads, while R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels add a premium touch. Inside, the cabin feels upmarket with quilted leather seats, multi-color ambient lighting, and premium dashboard finishes, offering a luxurious vibe rarely seen in this segment. Practical additions like the spacious boot (336L expandable to 690L), cooled glove compartment, and rear USB-C chargers enhance convenience.
Safety remains a strong suit with six airbags, ISOFIX anchors, a 360° Around View Monitor, and Electronic Stability Control, (although the build quality is not best-in-class). Features like Hill Start Assist and Hydraulic Brake Assist ensure confidence on challenging terrains. However, a slightly underpowered engine compared to rivals like the Tata Nexon or Hyundai Venue could be a drawback for performance enthusiasts. If you’re going for the Magnite, not expecting a high-performance, powerful drive would be practical.
What makes the Magnite shine is its value-packed offering. From wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ to the ARKAMYS® 3D sound system, the 2024 Magnite stands out as a tech-savvy, comfortable, and safe choice for urban families. While it could use a more powerful drivetrain, its stylish design, thoughtful upgrades, and unbeatable pricing make it a strong contender in the compact SUV space.
